GLAMIS CASTLE
Glamis is set in the rolling hills of Angus, approximately 20km from the North Sea, in an area of considerable ancient history. This medieval castle is the family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne. The Queen Mother was raised at the Castle. BLAIR CASTLE
Blair Castle is the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. The word ‘Blair’, so prevalent in Perthshire, has Gaelic origins and means a moor or plain. The castle enjoys one of Scotland’s finest settings. With its roots in the 13th century, Blair Castle’s history extends over some 740 years. One of the first private homes to open to the public in Scotland, and the residence of the only private army on British soil.

SCONE PALACE
Scone is a place that breathes history. It is the home of the Earls of Mansfield, but fifteen hundred years ago, it was the capital of the Pictish kingdom. In the intervening centuries, it has been the seat of parliaments and the crowning place of Kings. It has housed the Stone of Destiny and been immortalised in Shakespeare's Macbeth.

FALKLAND PALACE
Falkland Palace is a mind-blowing Renaissance building, set at the foot of the Lomond Hills. Built by James IV and James V between 1450 and 1541 the Palace was a country residence of the Stuart monarchs of Scotland for over 200 years and a favourite hunting lodge of Mary Queen of Scots. The stunning gardens complete the setting for this memorable property.

HOUSE OF DUN
This property is maintained by the National Trust for Scotland. It is a beautiful Georgian Family House designed by William Adam for David Erskine, the 13th Laird of Dun in 1730. It has fabulous Victorian gardens overlooking the Montrose Basin, and inside houses Georgian treasures of furniture, china, tapestries and the finest needlecrafts, clocks, royal artefacts and paintings

CASTLE MENZIES
This spectacular sixteenth century castle, restored by the Menzies Clan Society warmly welcomes visitors. It has been the seat of the Chiefs of Clan Menzies for over 400 years and was involved in the turbulent history of the Highlands. It was here that Bonnie Prince Charlie rested on his way to Culloden in 1746. Architecturally fascinating, it is a splendid example of the transition between earlier rugged fortress and later mansion house. Castle Menzies stands at Weem, one and half miles from Aberfeldy.

HUNTINGTOWER CASTLE
This castle is to be found just west of Perth on the road to Crieff. Its location is unspectacular, but both the grounds and the Castle are beautifully cared for. What you find here is a unique medieval buliding that has seen significant redevelopment during its colourful history. Two families, the Ruthvens and the Murrays, made it their home and it also played host to royalty.

STIRLING CASTLE
One of Scotland’s grandest castles due to its imposing position and impressive architecture, Stirling Castle commands the countryside for many miles around.

BALHOUSIE CASTLE
The Castle, located in Perth is an L-shaped tower house- dating from the 17th century. Balhousie has undergone various periods of construction; the difference in the masonry is still evident. In its present form, the Castle dates from the 1860s. The Castle has been the home of the Hay family of Perthshire, it has also been a Convent, but is currently the regimental headquarters of the disbanded Black Watch Regiment.
